TechHire Maine, a $4 million workforce development project managed by Coastal Counties Workforce Inc., is offering training funds to support Maine companies in teaching current employees new information technology (IT) skills. The statewide initiative is open to any employer located in Maine. The grant will provide financial support to help cover the cost of the training.

“With the state’s current tight labor market and low unemployment, employers are looking for ways to both train their workforce and remain competitive in the economy,” Labor Commissioner Laura Fortman said in a news release.

Employers choose the training program, training provider and employees to be trained. TechHire Maine can help employers identify the appropriate training for employees.
