Nordic Aquafarms Inc. will host a Community Dialogue on its proposed land-based salmon farm on Wednesday, November 28, at 6 p.m. at the University of Maine Hutchinson Center, on Belmont Avenue in Belfast.

“With the City Council election behind us and the permitting process under way, we want to continue our dialogue with the people of Belfast,” says company CEO Erik Heim. “This discussion will be another opportunity to address questions that people may have and listen to ideas about how we can ensure that our salmon farm will be a project that benefits the whole community.”

Heim said that there will be no formal presentation at the meeting, only a brief update on the status of the project, with the rest of the meeting turned over to an informal question-and-answer session and dialogue with the public. People will be able to offer questions or comments personally or write them down on index cards.

This will be the fifth public meeting that Nordic Aquafarms has held in Belfast since announcing the project last January. Two more are planned for this December and January 2019.
