The Appleton Select Board is seeking residents to participate in a review of the town’s comprehensive plan. Completed in 2007, with data collection beginning in 2003, the plan details the town’s history and infrastructure and creates a plan for future growth. While many town resources, such as 300 acres of town forests, remain unchanged since 2007, the town’s comparative tax burden and other factors have changed.

The committee will be tasked with reviewing the plan and formulating a new survey of residents to update the plan for future generations. The 2007 plan is available on the town’s website, appleton.maine.gov, and at the town office. Residents who are interested in participating should call the town office, at 785-4722, to be added to the list of committee members.
