Mid-Coast Recovery Coalition (MCRC) will discuss its proposal to purchase 63 Washington Street in Camden on Wednesday, December 12, at 7 p.m. in the French Conference Room in the Camden Town Office building on the corner of Elm and Washington streets. MCRC is proposing to buy the building in order to turn it into a residence for women in recovery from substance use disorder. The plan is to provide supportive housing and wrap-around services (job placement, childcare services, medical and behavioral health care, transportation, etc.) for up to six women and their children.

According to MCRC, it must raise over $160,000 within the next 30 days in order to be able to purchase the house. Anyone interested in MRC’s proposal for 63 Washington Street, as well as anyone interested in helping to raise the funds is encouraged to attend the meeting in Camden on December 12, or call Mid-Coast Recovery Coalition at 701-1182 for more information.
