Independent Bill Pluecker of Warren has filed to run for the State House against incumbent Rep. Paula Sutton (R-Warren) for House District 95, which comprises the towns of Warren, Appleton, Hope and part of Union. Pluecker and his wife Reba Richardson own Hatchet Cove Farm in Warren, where they grow vegetables and livestock and raise two children.

“As a small-business owner, I have been working with our community and see how it is the people of this district who are the real natural resource of our state,” said Pluecker in a statement. “It is the working families who are making ends meet in tough circumstances that make this place what it is. It is the business owners, hotel and restaurant workers, farmers, carpenters, fishermen, the folks who keep our machines running that are the foundation of our rural economy and keep our communities tight. My campaign is about prioritizing the needs of the people of our district and making their lives a little easier. I want to make the government in Augusta work for the people of Maine.”

Pluecker, who will run as a Clean Elections candidate, also works as a substitute teacher and has served as president and board trustee of the First Universalist Church in Rockland. He has also been on the Public Policy Committee of Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association.
