Linda Anne Buja died peacefully at home on August 22, 2018, surrounded by her family. Born in Dracut, Massachusetts, on February 12, 1945, she is the daughter of the late Stanley George Buja and Anna M. (Smigelski) Buja. She attended Lowell Institute of Technology and retired from an insurance company in Concord, New Hampshire, moving to Washington, Maine, five years ago. Predeceased by her son, Gary Lawson, she is survived by her siblings: Michael G. and his wife Sheila of Atlanta, Georgia; James R. and his wife Rosemary of Medway, Massachusetts; and Brenda A., also of Washington, Maine. She also leaves three nephews: Christopher, Stephen, and Michael Buja; two grandnephews, one grandniece, and many cousins. A lifelong gardener, she could be found every day walking among the little patch of earth she called her own for years, alone or with her eternal companions, her cats. A good book, a tomato and a cat by her side and she was happier than all those who believed they knew the definition of the word. She will be greatly missed. A graveside memorial service will be held at noon, Saturday, Ocotber 6, 2018, at Varnum Cemetery, Parker Road, Dracut, Massachusetts. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Maine State Society for the Protection of Animals, (MSSPA) P.O. Box 10, South Windham, ME 04082.
