“The Work,” a film about activities the group Inside Circle conducts with prisoners in California’s New Folsom Prison, will be shown at Strand Theatre, 345 Main Street, Rockland, at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 13. The showing is free and open to the public.

The film will be followed by a panel discussion led by Steve Spitzer, founder of Jericho Circle Project, which conducts similar work in Massachusetts prison facilities. Panelists will include Bruce Noddins of Maine Prisoner Re-entry Network; Maine Rep. Rachel Talbot Ross; and Matthew Magnuson, warden of Maine State Prison. Also participating will be individuals leading a local initiative to start a Jericho Circle Project at the Maine State Prison in Warren.

Jericho Circle Project — a partner with international organization ManKind Project — mobilizes volunteers to create and facilitate men’s circles in prisons to support personal change.
