Some of the best of London theater will be broadcast via satellite as the production is happening to Damarscotta’s Lincoln Theater’s big screen this fall, including three productions during September.

Julie, featuring Vanessa Kirby (BAFTA Award-winning actress for her portrayal of Princess Margaret in “The Crown”), will be broadcast on Thursday, September 6, at 2 p.m., from London’s National Theatre. The new version of Strindberg’s play Miss Julie, written by Polly Stenham, remains shocking and relevant in its new setting of contemporary London.

Romeo and Juliet comes to the big screen in a contemporary re-setting of Shakespeare’s tragedy captured live from the Royal Shakespeare Company on Thursday, September 13, with shows at 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

On Thursday, September 27, at 2 p.m., Ian McKellen appears in a contemporary retelling of Shakespeare’s King Lear in a broadcast from London’s West End as part of National Theatre Live.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $13 for Lincoln Theater members, and $5 for age 18 and under, and are available in advance at the Lincoln Theater office (563-3424) or on the day of the screening starting one hour before. An additional four live productions from the National Theatre will screen later in the fall. Complete details can be found at lcct.org.
