The Dancing Elephant, 14 School Street, Rockland, will host a screening of the film “Blessings: The Tsoknyi Nangchen Nuns of Tibet” on Friday, January 17, at 6:30 p.m. Admission to the public showing, which is the first in a series of movie nights planned for the third Friday of every month, is by donation. “Blessings” follows Buddhist teacher Tsoknyi Rinpoche III and a group of Western students as they travel to the Nangchen region in eastern Tibet in 2005. The purpose of their journey was to meet the Tsoknyi Nangchen nuns, 3,000 women who live in nunneries and hermitages scattered across the remote, mountainous region and practice an ancient yogic tradition. A discussion will follow the screening; tea will be served. For more information, visit, email or phone 594-1694.
