The Colonial Theatre in Belfast is offering films for streaming from its website. Those who buy virtual tickets will have several days to watch the films. Ticket prices vary; 50% of ticket revenue is earmarked for the theater’s future full-scale operation.

Recently added to the roster is “Museum Town,” a documentary directed by Jennifer Trainer. In 2017, MASS MoCA became the largest museum for contemporary art in the world. Just 30 years before, its abandoned brick buildings were relics of a shuttered factory. The film shows the improbable transformation of a rural Massachusetts town, North Adams, which became an art mecca after facing economic collapse. Featuring interviews with a diverse cast — a tattooed curator, a fabricator, a former factory worker, and shopkeepers — the film also looks at the artistic process itself, tracking the work and ideas of artist Nick Cave as he creates his installation “UNTIL.” Narrated by Meryl Streep, with a soundtrack by John Stirratt of Wilco.
