Camden Public Library cardholders now have access to Kanopy, an on-demand video streaming service. Patrons can stream over 30,000 films from hundreds of distributors, such as The Criterion Collection, The Great Courses and PBS, as well as thousands of independent filmmakers. Each library member will receive 10 credits every month, which will allow 10 films to be watched for free.

The collection includes indie, art-house, international, and educational films and a large collection of educational videos for kids as well, with lessons in math, science, art history, and more, which can be beneficial to homeschooling families.

Kanopy films can be viewed on people’s home televisions using Chromecast or an HDMI connection to a laptop, or directly on a laptop computer, Apple TV, Roku, iOS (iPhone, iPad), or Android device (phone or tablet). Contact the library to discuss options for viewing Kanopy.

All that’s needed for sign up is a library card; anyone wishing help in signing up should call the library, 236-3440, or stop by in person.
