The University of Maine will offer its annual documentary film course this fall that includes participation in the Camden International Film Festival (CIFF), held Thursday, September 13 through Sunday, September 16.

The CIFF documentary film course offers an opportunity to network with both award-winning and emerging filmmakers. In addition to attending CIFF screenings, students will receive a pass providing opportunities to discuss the films in public forums and meet for further dialogues in seminar conferences with filmmakers and industry leaders.

In addition to CIFF attendance, four required preparatory classes will engage students in the critical language, history and potentials of documentary filmmaking. The Saturday classes will take place on the Orono campus on September 8, September 29, November 3 and December 8. Instructors are Michael Grillo, Michael Scott and Robert Brinkley.
