Gov. Paul LePage’s daughter Lauren LePage has landed a job with the National Rifle Association, according to the Portland Press Herald. The newspaper reports that LePage will be the state director for Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. The governor’s daughter first came onto the political scene in 2011 when her father hired her just out of college as his aid. She later went on to be head of the pro-LePage PAC “People Before Politics,” followed by a stint as a lobbyist with Serra Public Affairs in Augusta. Most recently she ran failed gubernatorial candidate Shawn Moody’s campaign. As the NRA’s new local lobbyist, LePage will likely have her hands full this coming session as Maine’s Democratic-controlled Legislature is expected to consider several gun control bills.
