June 21: Tanja, a 606-foot bulk carrier, arrived in Searsport from Portland and delivered clay slurry, a paper coating. It departed June 22 for Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia.

June 22: Palanca Rio, a 437-foot asphalt and bitumen tanker, arrived in Searsport from Saint John, N.B., and delivered asphalt. It departed June 23, returning to Saint John.

June 22: Karen Koby, a tug, arrived at Cianbro’s Eastern Manufacturing facility in Brewer from Berwick, La., and delivered a flat barge to be loaded with modules for a Pennsylvania refinery. It picked up the loaded barge on June 28 and departed for Morgan City, La., with the seventh of 19 planned shipments from Cianbro to the refinery.   

June 26: New England, a 600-foot Irving Oil tanker, arrived in Searsport from Saint John, N.B., cargo unknown (typically gasoline and diesel). It departed June 27 for Boston.

June 27: Acadian, a 600-foot Irving Oil tanker, arrived in Bucksport from Saint John, N.B., and delivered jet fuel. It departed June 28, returning to Saint John.

July 7: Hollywood, a tug, arrived at Cianbro in Brewer with a flat barge to be loaded with refinery modules (see June 22 for more information). It was scheduled to depart on July 9.

July 9: Chemical Pioneer, a 662-foot chemical tanker, arrived in Searsport from Jacksonville, Fla., and delivered caustic soda.

Expected Arrivals

July 10 — New England, returning to Searsport from Saint John, N.B., cargo unknown.

July 10-12 — Cape Lookout, to Searsport from New York via Boston, delivering ethanol.

Sarah Dann is due back in the area later this month for more refinery modules. The Louisiana-based tug has previously picked up two barge-loads of the modules from Cianbro’s manufacturing facility in Brewer.
