August 13: Magothy, a tug with fuel barge, arrived in Searsport from New York and delivered 40,000 barrels of No. 6 oil. It sailed later that day, returning to New York.

August 14: Argyroula GS, a 580-foot general cargo ship, arrived in Searsport from New York and loaded 5,000 tons of scrap metal. It sailed later that day for Izmir, Turkey.

August 19: Great Eastern, a 600-foot Irving Oil tanker, arrived in Searsport from Saint John, N.B., and delivered 85,000 barrels of gasoline, 20,000 barrels of heating oil and 70,000 barrels of diesel. On August 20, it continued to Bucksport and delivered 45,000 barrels of jet fuel, then sailed August 21 returning to Saint John.

August 20: Marguerita, a 606-foot bulk carrier, arrived in Searsport from Vila do Conde, Brazil, and delivered kaolin clay slurry, a glossy paper coating. It sailed August 21 for Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia.
