March 24: New England, a 600-foot Irving Oil tanker, arrived in Searsport from Providence, R.I., and delivered 38,000 barrels of jet fuel, 95,000 barrels of gasoline and 42,000 barrels of diesel. On March 25, it continued to Bucksport, delivered 38,000 barrels of jet fuel, and sailed later that day for Saint John, N.B., home of the Irving Oil refinery.
