Boston-based ensemble The Gottabees will present three interactive Zoom events for children and families on Fridays and Saturdays as part of the Strand Family Series.

“How to Charm a Sea Monster” will be available April 9 and 10; “What We Found in the Forest” will be offered April 16 and 17, and “Journey into Space” will play April 23 and 24. All shows are at 11a.m.

A live interview with Gottabees founder Bonnie Duncan will be held on Tuesday, April 6, at 6 p.m., streamed from the Strand’s YouTube and Facebook pages, after which it will be available on the Strand’s website. Viewers will have the opportunity to ask questions via the comment section on Facebook or YouTube.

The Gottabees apply their interdisciplinary training in music, dance, acrobatics, theater and design to share original nonverbal stories set to live music involving human and puppet characters.

The cost to stream the shows is “pay-what-you-can”; prices are set at $20, $10, $5, or $0 so that cost is not a barrier to attendance. A limit of 50 tickets will be sold for each show. To purchase, visit, call 594-0070 or email

The next show in the Family Series, to be offered May 1–16, will be “Castle of Our Skins,” a concert featuring string quartets playing African American spirituals.
