September 24: Tanja, a 606-foot bulk carrier, arrived in Searsport from Villa do Conde, Brazil, via Portland and delivered clay slurry. It departed September 25 for Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia.

September 27: New England, a 600-foot Irving Oil tanker, arrived in Searsport from Saint John, N.B., and delivered 95,000 barrels of gasoline, 65,000 barrels of diesel and 25,000 barrels of No. 2 heating oil. It departed September 28 for Boston.

Roland A. Falgout, a tug with deck barge, arrived in Belfast from Fourchon, La., and delivered the empty barge to Cianbro’s Eastern Manufacturing Facility in Brewer to be loaded with prefabricated refinery modules bound for an undisclosed facility in Pennsylvania. The shipment is roughly the 14th of 19 planned for the project. It was scheduled to sail with the loaded barge October 9.

September 28: Cape Henry, a tug with fuel barge, arrived in Bucksport from Delaware City, Del., and delivered 60,000 barrels of No. 2 heating oil and 40,000 barrels of kerosene. It departed September 29 for New York.

September 29: Sapphire Princess, a 951-foot cruise ship with a capacity of 2,670 passengers and 1,100 crew, anchored in Rockland on a 24-day cruise from London with stops in Newfoundland, the Maritimes, New England and New York City. It was the only large cruise ship to visit Rockland this year.

October 1: Brooklyn, a tug with fuel barge, arrived in Searsport from New York and delivered 72,000 barrels of kerosene. It departed October 2 returning to New York.

October 4: Acadian, a 600-foot Irving Oil tanker, arrived in Searsport from Saint John, N.B., and delivered 35,000 barrels of gasoline, 20,000 barrels of diesel and 25,000 barrels of No. 2 heating oil.

La Commander, a tug with deck barge, arrived from Fourchon, La., and anchored at the mouth of Belfast Harbor. It was scheduled to deliver the empty barge to Brewer on October 10 to be loaded with modules. See above entry for Roland A. Falgout.

October 6: Iver Prosperity, a 603-foot Irving Oil tanker, arrived in Searsport from Saint John, N.B., with 30,000 barrels of diesel and 15,000 barrels of heating oil.
