Members of the Camden-based Parkinson’s Support Group invite all those living with Parkinson’s disease, their families and caregivers to a presentation on the particular benefits of home health care for those with Parkinson’s, set for Tuesday, September 4, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Anderson Inn at Quarry Hill in Camden.

Local representatives from MaineHealth Care at Home will explain how home care can help people regain and even improve functioning following a period of acute illness or hospitalization within the comfort of their own homes. They’ll also discuss how to access home health services, explaining which services are covered by Medicare, MaineCare and private insurance.

Afterward, in celebration of the support group’s 14th anniversary, cake and ice cream will be served.

The Camden-based support group meets at Quarry Hill on the first Tuesday of each month from noon to 2 p.m.; participation is free of charge. For more information about the September meeting or about the group in general, contact Cassie Walters, 596-3978 or ckwalters66@gmail.com.
