• Advance-care planning will be offered at no charge on Wednesday, May 12, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Advance-care planning is an organized process of reflecting upon and discussing goals for future health care decisions. Vikki Swan will lead the workshop, helping participants to begin the process of filling out an advance directive, which is a written plan stating individual preferences regarding medical care in the event one is unable to convey these directly.

• Cooking Matters. Free webinars will be held on Tuesdays, May 18 through June 22, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. The Cooking Matters Maine curriculum teaches healthy eating habits, cooking skills, food shopping and budgeting. Each class focuses on a theme such as fruits and vegetables or healthy snacking. The preparation of low-cost, nutritious recipes will be demonstrated and ingredients will be made available for pickup so participants can cook along. Attendees will also receive a Hannaford gift card at the end of the sixth session.

• Postpartum Support Group will be held on Thursdays, May 13 and 27, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The free group was created by women and mothers who have had challenging postpartum experiences or have been educated about them. It offers an opportunity for new and pregnant mothers and families to talk, listen, and get support. Registration is required; call 505-4140.

• Lettuce-Free Salads will be offered at no charge on Monday, May 17, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Familiar ingredients will be used to create salads without lettuce.
