Wildlife biologist Kendall Marden of the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife will lead a Wood Duck Box Monitoring Workshop at Midcoast Conservancy on Friday, February 15, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for anyone interested in learning about a way to give back to Maine wildlife by monitoring a wood duck nest box (pictured). Participants should meet at the Midcoast Conservancy office, on Route 1 in Edgecomb, where the group will view a presentation about how to monitor wood duck boxes and different conditions needed for wood duck nesting habitat. The group will then carpool to the location of the outdoor portion of the workshop; participants are encouraged to bring layers to be prepared for any weather.  After the workshop, interested attendees are welcome to join Midcoast Conservancy’s duck monitoring team. Contact Jade Christensen at Midcoast Conservancy to RSVP or for more information at 389-5162 or landmcc@midcoastconservancy.org.
