Unity College is offering a 72- to 80-hour Wilderness First Responder (WFR) SOLO this spring, and again in the fall. The course gives individuals an opportunity to gain skills in response and assessment, musculoskeletal injuries, environmental emergencies and survival skills, soft tissue injuries, and medical emergencies. All WFR students must have a current CPR card or will need to take an Adult CPR/AED course in an evening session. There are no prerequisites for this course. The cost of the course is $550 for Unity College students and employees (includes course fees and books), and $650 for all others. The college does not offer housing accommodations during the academic school year. WFR SOLO course dates for the spring session are: March 22 to 30, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and for the fall, evening classes are 5 to 8 p.m. on October 16, 18, 19, 23, 25 and 30, and November 1, 6, 8, 13 and 15, with weekend classes from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on October 20 and 21, and November 10 and 11.
