Midcoast Conservancy is offering two free camps: Paddleboard Adventure Camp, open to all Maine youth ages 9 to 14, at Stevens Pond in Liberty, Tuesday through Thursday, July 16 through 18; and Little Dyer Adventure Club, for children ages 8 to 11, at Hidden Valley Nature Center, 131 Egypt Road in Jefferson, Tuesday through Thursday, July 23 through 25.

Paddleboard Adventure campers will receive an introduction to stand-up paddleboard (SUP) skills and safety, play paddling games, explore the pond on SUPs and practice rescue techniques. SUPs, paddles and personal flotation devices will be provided. Prior experience is not required. Participants should be comfortable with water and prepared to be physically active during camp. They will need to dress for the outdoors and bring a swimsuit, towel, lunch and a full water bottle.

Adventure Club campers will experience the basics of canoeing, mountain biking, hiking and leave-no-trace camping. Instructors will provide guidance for future adventures by teaching what to pack and how to prepare before heading out on a trail. Participants must be able to ride a two-wheeled bike. All equipment is provided by Midcoast Conservancy.
