Merryspring Nature Center, located at 30 Conway Road in Camden, will host Rose Day, presented by gardeners Susan Shaw and Pat McLean, on Tuesday, June 30, at noon.

Rose Day has long been an annual tradition at Merryspring. Shaw and McLean will talk about growing roses, offer some history of rose gardening, discuss how to choose good rose varieties for Maine’s climate, and medicinal uses for roses. After the talk, visitors can tour the Rose Garden at Merryspring, which was started by Glenn Jenks more than 30 years ago.

The presentation is part of Merryspring’s Summer Talk series and is subject to cancellation or postponement according to state and local regulations.

The cost of the program is $5, with free admission for Merryspring members. Attendees are encouraged to bring exact change to minimize cash transactions.

Those attending are advised to wear face masks. Seating will be outdoors in chairs placed a safe distance apart.
