Thomaston Historical Society will present Home for the Holidays Gala and House Tour on Friday and Saturday, December 6 and 7, at the Captain William Henderson House at 239 Main Street. Friday will feature a wine reception and live and silent auctions from 5 to 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 for historical society members, $24 for nonmembers; space on Friday is limited. Saturday, the house will be open for tours and the silent auction will continue from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday tickets are $10 for members, $12 for nonmembers. Friday night tickets are good for Friday and Saturday. The house, now owned by Patti Nilsen, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was built for Captain Henderson and his wife, Susan Amelia Jordan, a daughter of Captain Oliver Jordan, who was a successful sea captain and Thomaston merchant.
