Healthy Lincoln County has repurposed some of its front lawn on Main Street in Damariscotta as a “giving garden.” Two raised beds are being used for growing vegetables and herbs. Director Kate Martin says the organization chose to grow plants that most people are familiar with, such as tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots and spinach. Once plants are ready to be harvested, anyone in the community is welcome to help themselves. Any leftover food will be distributed by Lincoln County Gleaners.
