“A Salute to Wood Harvesters” will be held at Waldoborough Historical Society, 1164 Main Street, Waldoboro, Sunday, September 22, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Chainsaw carver Ron Carlson of China, Maine, will begin carving at 11 a.m. outside the museum, pausing at 1 p.m. for a talk by licensed forester Mark Vannah. Vannah, who works at Robbins Lumber in Searsmont, will share his experiences and knowledge of the history of timber harvesting; Robbins Lumber has operated a sawmill on St. George River since 1881. The museum will be open and the public is welcome to attend at no charge.
