Speaker Lena Börjesson, from Sweden, will present the results of her Viking Age navigation trials and discuss how they confirm or question existing theories of how the Vikings navigated in a talk at The Apprenticeshop, 655 Main Street, Rockland, on Wednesday, September 25, at 6 p.m.

Börjesson teaches low-tech navigation and sailing with traditional square-rigged boats at Fosen folkehögskole in Norway. She has also been an instructor in various Scandinavian Viking boats and sailed more than 2,000 nautical miles of trial trips to gain experience on how the Viking Age sailors may have found their way over the northern Atlantic, with and without any navigational tools.

There is a suggested donation of $10 for the lecture. For more information, visit apprenticeshop.org or contact The Apprenticeshop at 594-1800 or info@apprenticeshop.org.
