New Hope for Women, an organization that offers support to people affected by domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking in Waldo, Knox, Lincoln and Sagadahoc counties, recently added Shelley Megquier (shown, right) and Sarah Robbins (shown, left) to its board of directors. Belfast resident Megquier has an extensive background in gender and development work, internationally and in the United States, including work at one of Maine’s agencies addressing domestic violence. She is currently a senior policy advisor at Population Reference Bureau, a Washington, D.C.– based nongovernmental organization. Robbins, a resident of Lisbon, is a business support analyst for Milton CAT, a construction- machine dealer, where she is responsible for analyzing and improving business processes.
