National Digital Equity Center (NDEC) will offer free digital literacy classes to residents and businesses in Belfast as part of the Maine Digital Inclusion Initiative. The first class, an overview called Improve Your Computer Skills For Free, will be held in the Abbott Room at Belfast Free Library on Thursday, January 23, from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

Louis Carrier, NDEC digital literacy instructor, will inform participants about the center’s new Aging Well with Technology curriculum, designed for residents age 55 and older; offer tips for staying safe on the internet; and preview other computer skills classes to be offered through the program.

The Maine Digital Inclusion Initiative is a program of the National Digital Equity Center committed to closing the digital divide in rural Maine. This workshop and subsequent classes are cosponsored by Island Institute.
