Joyful Bodies will hold a series of Costume Creation Saturdays at Belfast Fiberarts, 171 High Street, suite 8, from 1 to 4 p.m. on December 28, January 11, January 25, February 1 and February 8. The costumes, banners and puppets crafted at the workshops will be featured in Farm & Forest Fiber Flannel Runway Fashion Show and a party on Friday, February 14.

Those of all ages and abilities are welcome at the workshops and the party. The February 14 event, to be held at Belfast American Legion Hall, 143 Church Street, will take place from 4 to 11 p.m. and include work songs, crafts, local fare and foraged finger foods, the fashion show, a contra dance with music by The Love Bugs (Molly Gawler and friends) and Funk-y Dance Party with Cy Scofield and friends. Admission is by sliding scale, $5 to $50; the evening is a benefit for Belfast Adventure Education — a three-day homeschool enrichment program — and will support start-up, a biodiesel solar bus fund and a scholarship fund.
