Jesse Casas will discuss his genealogical research at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, January 17, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 64 Old County Road, Rockport. The talk is free of charge and open to the public. Casas grew up in midcoast Maine knowing that his father had been adopted and had no clues about his biological roots. Years later, an interest in his biological grandparents led him to undertake research that culminated in discoveries that surprised him. Casas now holds a certificate in genealogical research from Boston University and sits on the board of Maine Genealogical Society. After the talk, he will offer suggestions to attendees interested in beginning a search for family roots.
