Belfast Chapter 1434 of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) will host its annual Airport Open House and Lobster Fly-In on Saturday, September 15 (rain date 16), from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Belfast Municipal Airport on Wright Brothers Drive. Admission is free. Many aviation-related community service and educational organizations will be represented.

Breakfast is from 7:30 to 10 a.m., and it includes eggs, pancakes with Maine blueberries and maple syrup, bacon, juice and coffee, all for $7. There will be a chicken barbecue lunch, and food trucks will be there all day.

Airplanes from throughout the U.S. will be flying in, including many home-builts, and there will also be static displays of various aircraft. Additionally, helicopter rides (for a fee) and free Young Eagle airplane rides for kids ages 8 to 17 will be offered (parental permission required).

In the past, over 50 airplanes from as far away as Kentucky have flown in and over 400 pounds of lobsters were flown home. For more information, call 323-0616.
