The Maine Lobster Festival has selected Virginia Oliver, also known as the Lobster Lady, to be the grand marshal for this year’s big parade. Oliver is a Rockland native who has been lobstering for 91 years — she will celebrate her 100th birthday in June. For the past 13 years, she has worked as a sternman for her son on the F/V Virginia. The Maine Lobster Festival Big Parade will take place Saturday, August 1, in Rockland. The 2020 festival will be held from July 29 to August 2. For more information, visit mainelobsterfestival.com.
