Central Lincoln County (CLC) YMCA and Boothbay Region (BR) YMCA have partnered with TGK Athletics to enhance program offerings during basketball season for youth in grades K to 11. TGK Athletics has worked with athletes who have competed at all levels, from learning the basics to playing in the professional ranks.

Through TGK’s program, athletes receive guidance in how to be a positive influence in society and become leaders of tomorrow while learning how to compete, work with others for a common goal, respect others, and have fun.

A youth skills clinic will be held at the BR YMCA on Friday, January 11, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The clinic includes skill development in footwork, two-ball handling, athletic position, breakdown moves, inside pivot shooting, and change of direction with ball in transition. To register, call 633-2855. Cost is $10 for members and $12 for nonmembers.

TGK Athletics will also offer NBA Junior Skills Challenge on Friday, January 18, at the CLC YMCA and on Friday, January 25, at the BR YMCA from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The challenge is free and includes a Junior NBA T-shirt and participation certificate with first-, second- and third-place winners earning a trip to NYC to compete in the regionals. To register, call TGK Athletics at 370-1598.
