School tours at Ashwood offer visitors a view of how Waldorf works.
Ashwood Waldorf School, 180 Park Street, Rockport, will offer an opportunity to visit classes in session in grades three through eight on Wednesday, September 18, from 8:15 to 10:30 a.m. This behind-the-scenes look at Waldorf education is for anyone curious about what goes on in a Waldorf classroom, whether a parent, grandparent, college or high school student, teacher, health care professional, or simply an interested community member or neighbor.

Every morning in more than 1,000 Waldorf schools worldwide, the day begins with an interactive main lesson, in which academic subjects come to life through storytelling, movement, experimentation, and the arts. This tour allows visitors to see the main lesson in action in three classrooms in session, from early elementary grades through middle school. After the tour there will be time for questions and conversation with the school director.

Tours of Ashwood’s mixed-age kindergarten, ages 3 through 6, are arranged on request; email info@ashwoodwaldorf.org.

Advance registration is required by September 17 for the September 18 tour; email info@ashwoodwaldorf.org or call 236-8021.
