The Landing Place, the comprehensive youth program of Knox County Homeless Coalition located at 61 Park Street in Rockland, is offering free Backyard Summertime programs through August on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from noon to 4 p.m.

In-person youth programs, designed for middle and high school age students, will align with CDC best-practice protocols and recommendations from the governor’s office; a maximum of 10 young people may participate on a first-come, first-served basis. Tuesdays will feature collaborative, hands-on projects and lawn sports; offered on Wednesdays will be walking, biking, skateboarding and field trips; and Thursdays will focus on “Backyard Tranquility”: art, yoga, meditation, small-group discussions, and making lemonade and cucumber water, among other activities.

Prepared meals from Knox County Summer Meals Program as well as pantry food, toiletries and other supplies are available for youth to take home at each session.
