Maine Educational Opportunity Center (MEOC) hosts free “Essentials of College Planning” workshops to help qualified adults age 19 and over make the transition to college, whichever college or university they choose. 

The free “Essentials” workshop is the first step for all MEOC participants. The workshop, which lasts approximately one to two hours, covers the four steps in the college process: admissions, financial aid, career planning and study skills. Pre-registration is required.

• Hutchinson Center, Belfast, Tuesday, January 22, at 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

• Hutchinson Center, Belfast, Monday, February 4, at 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

• Hutchinson Center, Belfast, Tuesday, February 12, at 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

• Hutchinson Center, Belfast, Tuesday, February 26, at 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

MEOC is funded entirely by the U.S. Department of Education. The services provided include GED/SAT preparation, college planning, referrals and advocacy, career advising, financial aid advising, college admissions process, and application fee waivers for qualified adults.
