Author Gerry Boyle (pictured) will talk about his craft and read from his work on Friday, December 7, at 7 p.m. at Searsmont Town Library. The Library Book Group just finished reading Boyle’s “Damaged Goods,” one in a series of Boyle’s Jack McMorrow mysteries set in Maine. Landmarks in the novel are familiar to residents of Waldo County. The library received a $900 grant from the Rudman Library Trust of the Maine Community Foundation to promote the work of Maine mystery and crime writers with “Whodunnit: A Maine-Made Mysterious Library Project.” The grant allows the library to buy dozens of new mysteries, subscribe to a mystery/crime fiction magazine or two and invite authors to visit the library. Admission to Boyle’s talk is free. For more information, call the library at 342 5549, or email stlme@searsmont.lib.me.us.
