Maine Media Workshops & College will offer writing workshops June 9 through June 15. Participants may choose to work with Brooklyn Poet Laureate Tina Chang, Inaugural Poet Richard Blanco, or poet Nick Flynn. Registration for the workshops is at MaineMedia.edu.

The poets will offer free evening readings at Pascal Hall, 86 Pascal Avenue, Rockport, at 7:30 p.m. Chang will read on Tuesday, June 11; Flynn on Wednesday, June 12; and Blanco on Thursday, June 13.

Tina Chang, the first woman to be named poet laureate of Brooklyn, has written three poetry collections: “Hybrida,” “Of God & Strangers” and “Half-Lit Houses.”

Nick Flynn is a Guggenheim Fellow and winner of the PEN/Joyce Osterweil Award for Poetry.

Richard Blanco is the fifth U.S. inaugural poet. He is noted for his memoirs “The Prince of Los Cocuyos: A Miami Childhood,” “For All of Us,” and “One Today: An Inaugural Poet’s Journey.” He recently published a new book of poems, “How to Love a Country,” which explores immigration, gun violence, racism, and LGBTQ issues.
