To celebrate Arts Advocacy Month in March, Waterfall Arts, 256 High Street in Belfast, is presenting the fourth annual “Young Artists’ Gallery Takeover ” exhibition in its Clifford and Corridor galleries. The exhibition will open with a reception on Friday, March 1, from 5 to 7 p.m. The reception is free and everyone is welcome to attend, meet the artists, and enjoy the show. At 6 p.m., Waterfall Arts will present its first annual Bridge Alumni award to a young artist in the community. The inaugural award will go to Belfast resident Pia Gibson, one of the first participants in the Bridge after-school art program, a cornerstone program of the Youth and Family Outreach program at Waterfall Arts. The “Young Artists’ Gallery Takeover” exhibition will feature over 200 works by students from Waldo County area schools and youth groups ranging in age from kindergarten through high school. The exhibition will be on display through March 29. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, and by appointment.
