River Arts, located at 36 Elm Street in Damariscotta, is hosting a two-person show in the River Room featuring paintings by Kathleen Thornton and textiles by Linda Healy through June 23. The public is invited to meet the artists from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 5.

Thornton works primarily in acrylics and takes inspiration from the Maine environment. Her career in marine science has provided opportunity to venture far from shore and has inspired many of her seascapes.

Healy’s work is tactile and functional. She finds colorways, patterns and inspiration from the natural world but also gives a nod to her Swedish heritage and traditional Scandinavian weaving techniques.

Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, call 563-6868 or visit riverartsme.org.
