The Joseph A. Fiore Art Center, 152 Punk Point Road in Jefferson, will host the opening of “Conversations: Studio and Table,” its first-ever gallery exhibit, on Saturday, July 8, with a public reception from 4 to 6 p.m. The Fiore Art Center, a program of Maine Farmland Trust, aims to attract artists for whom the relationship between people and the environment is an important element in their work.

The 16 artists in the show, most of whom live or spend summers in Maine, were invited to be guests in the Fiore  Center’s first residency program, held through 2016, which included farm-to-table dinners and studio visits: Richard Abbott, Sam Cady, Kimberly Callas, Lois Dodd, Nancy Glassman, Cynthia Hyde, Frances Hynes, Jim Kinnealey, Dennis Pinette, Carol Rowan, Susan Stephenson, Susan Van Campen, Tim Van Campen, Mary Jean Viano Crowe and Patricia Wheeler.

The exhibit was curated by David Dewey, watercolorist, co-director of the Fiore Art Center and curator of the estate of Joseph A. Fiore with the Falcon Foundation.

“Conversations: Studio and Table” will continue through September 4. The gallery is open on Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m. throughout the summer, or by appointment.

In addition, Open Studio Days at the Center, on the last Saturday of each month, will showcase the work of each month’s artists-in-residence. July’s Open Studio Day will take place on the 29th, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, visit www.mainefarmlandtrust.org/public-outreach-new/jaf-art-center.
