The red balloons signifying participation in Art Walk Waldoboro will be flying at the Waldoborough Historical Society on Saturday, September 8. The museum will be open from noon to 6 p.m. and will feature an exhibit connecting Andrew Wyeth’s “Maidenhair” portrait with the Old German Church on Waldoboro’s Bremen Road. A signed copy of Wyeth’s book “The Art of Andrew Wyeth” is included in the exhibit.

For those who would like to support the Waldobrough Historical Society, an indoor yard sale will take place at the West Waldoboro Club/School on Saturday and Sunday, September 29 and 30, from 8 a.m. to noon. Those who would like to donate sale items (no clothing) may contact Bill Maxwell at 790-1307. A $5 donation sent to WHS, P.O. Box 110, Waldoboro, will get the donor’s name in a drawing for a T-shirt and a Waldoboro Ships 18-month calendar. Funds will go toward the refurbishing of the schoolhouse so that it can be opened next summer for exhibits having to do with Waldoboro’s past.

Waldoborough Historical Society museum will remain open from noon to 3 p.m. daily (except Tuesdays) through September 9 and on weekends through October 7.
