The Center for Maine Contemporary Art, located at 21 Winter Street in Rockland, will offer free memberships to Rockland residents, beginning Saturday, May 29. First National Bank has pledged to support the program for two years.

Rockland residents over the age of 18 can sign up for a CMCA membership with proof of a Rockland mailing address. The Rockland Free Membership program includes three membership levels — artist, individual, or household — that include unlimited free admission to exhibitions, free admission to artist talks and gallery events, a subscription to CMCA’s e-newsletter, discounts on ArtLab camps and workshops, discounts on event tickets and a 10% discount in the CMCA gift shop. Those interested may sign up at the museum’s front desk. To learn more, visit cmcanow.org.

The Rockland Free Membership program expands upon other free CMCA community outreach programs, including ArtLab, which offers monthly art-making for people of all ages, and Arts@Work, an arts-based mentorship program serving high school students. Admission to CMCA is free for youth and students under the age of 18.
