The Center for Maine Contemporary Art (CMCA), 21 Winter Street, Rockland, invites the public to a panel discussion on Arctic artist residencies with four artists included in the current exhibition “Melt Down” on Sunday, May 19, at 3 p.m. The panel features artists Jonathan Laurence, Justin Levesque, Jim Nickelson and Shoshannah White, with discussion moderator Suzette McAvoy, CMCA director. The artists will share images of work created while in residency in the Arctic region, as well as tales and experiences of their adventures. They will also offer information and advice for other artists interested in attending an Arctic residency program. The program is free to CMCA members, others with admission. Those attending are encouraged to stay following the talk for refreshments and further discussion. “Melt Down” will be on view at CMCA through June 9.
