The 11th annual Acadia Night Sky Festival has launched its annual competition to find the image that will represent the 2019 festival, to be held September 25 to 29. All artists and photographers over the age of 18 are invited to submit their take on the night sky. To be considered for the festival’s 2019 poster image and marketing materials all submissions must be original, depict Acadia and/or Downeast Maine’s stellar night sky, and be high resolution. Submission deadline is Sunday, March 24. For full submission terms and conditions, visit acadianightskyfestival.org. Over the past 10 years, the festival has grown to include dozens of workshops led by researchers, stargazing atop Cadillac Mountain, evening cruises on Frenchman Bay, telescope lessons, and more.
