The Maine Art Gallery, located at 15 Warren Street in Wiscasset, will feature work by Maine artist John Lorence and some colleagues in a show opening on Saturday, June 12, titled “Acquired Symbols.”

A reception will be held on June 12 from 4 to 7 p.m. The show continues until July 17.

Works in mixed media, collage, sculpture, photography, pottery, drawing and painting reflect the worldly influences that affected exhibiting artists Elliott Barowitz, Matt Blackwell, Fellice Boucher, Clara Cohan, Camille Cole, Sara Cox, Ellen Gutenkunst, Peter Haller, John Lorence, Jorge Pena, Patrick Plourde and Teresa Sullivan.
