Tickets are on sale at the Strand Theatre in Rockland for the 2018-2019 season of The Met: Live in HD, the Metropolitan Opera’s series of live high-definition cinema simulcasts. The 13th season opens on Saturday, October 6, with the Met’s production of Verdi’s Aida, starring Anna Netrebko.

The Strand’s broadcast season will include 10 live Saturday simulcasts, as well as rebroadcasts of each performance on a following Tuesday.

The season includes four new productions: Saint-Saëns’s Samson et Dalila, the U.S. premiere production of Nico Muhly’s Marnie, Mayer’s new staging of Verdi’s La Traviata, and Cilea’s Adriana Lecouvreur, also starring Anna Netrebko in the title role.

In addition, Live in HD audiences will have the chance to see Poulenc’s Dialogues des Carmélites for the first time in cinemas, Richard Eyre’s production of Bizet’s Carmen, Laurent Pelly’s reimagining of Donizetti’s La Fille du Régiment, and the most popular of Wagner’s four epic Ring operas, Die Walküre, with Christine Goerke as Brünnhilde.

Tickets for the live broadcasts — $27 for adults, $15 for students — can be purchased in advance at, by calling the box office at 594-0070, or at the theater when it is open for scheduled shows. A 10-performance season ticket is also available.

Encore performance tickets are $23, $5 for students, and are sold at the box office only on the day of the show, starting 90 minutes prior to showtime.
