The Center for Maine Contemporary Art will hold four sessions of summer camp in July and August. The cost for each week of ArtCamp is $175 for CMCA member households, $200 for nonmember households.

ArtCamp: Earth Arts, led by instructor Heidi O’Donnell, will be offered Monday through Thursday, July 19–22, from 9 a.m. to noon, in the CMCA Courtyard and ArtLab. The group will be limited to 10 campers, who will delve into the world of textiles by exploring earth arts through dry-felting and woven fiber arts techniques. For children ages 8 to 13.

The theme for the second week of ArtCamp is Who Is Maine? It will be held Monday through Thursday, July 26– 29, from 9 a.m. to noon, in the CMCA Courtyard and ArtLab. Ten campers will learn about Maine, look closely at the museum’s summer exhibitions and create personal works expressing relationship to place. For children ages 8 to 13.

ArtCamp: The Shape of Summer, led by instructor Marcie Jan Bronstein, will be held Monday through Thursday, August 2–5, from 9 a.m. to noon, in the CMCA Courtyard and ArtLab. Ten campers will focus on the power of shapes that evoke summer by drawing, painting and building three-dimensional forms. For children ages 8 to 13.

Sonarts: A Collaborative Camp for Musicians and Artists will be offered with Midcoast Music Academy Monday through Friday, August 9–13 and 16–20, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., for young people ages 13 to 18. The group will be limited to 10 participants. Student artists and musicians will collaborate to create an interactive, performance-based art piece. Students will work with teaching artists to create an interactive element, using visual and audio narratives. The final product will include a performance element and will be open to the public as is safely allowed. Open to both musicians and artists, the cost for the two-week Sonarts camp is $540 for CMCA member households, $600 for nonmember households.
